Ubuntu Village School is a grassroots community education initiative which emerged out of a desire to design and create supplemental education programming for our community with an emphasis on African cultural heritage. Students and leaders meet on Saturday mornings at Holy Savior Catholic Academy, 4640 E. 15 St. N. Ubuntu Village is a partner program of Partners for Wichita. Angela Scott is the Director.

Some glimpses of Ubuntu…
Students have been learning the importance of DNA, discovering more about ourselves and our ancestral history. We can link the earliest human being to Africa. Students conducted an experiment to extract DNA from spinach!
In drumming sessions students dance, clap, sing, and of course drum! Elder Fran Jackson and Mr. Aaron Newton focused on the artistic and historical significance of the Drum.
Myjaedah Ballard led discovery of water filtration to purify water.
