Yuki is a senior at Wichita East High School and enjoys getting to know the people within her community. She joined Safe Streets during Summer 2019 and decided to join ICTeens In Mind because mental health was very important to her as she witnessed a lot of family members and friends struggle. Yuki wanted to be a part of the solution, but did not really know how to at first. As she attended more meetings for ICTeens and Safe Streets, she aw the connection between substance misuse and mental health and the effects of it on our community especially among young adults. She became involved as a sector representative and hopes to impact the younger generation just as her Safe Streets mentor has influenced her advocacy in mental health and prevention work.
