Food Delivery
Gray Structure

Congregations, organizations, and agencies that give emergency food assistance or provide meals for the community are invited to get together, network, share ideas and resources, and discover ways to serve neighbors in need most effectively. Wichita Food Share is an opportunity to share good ideas on providing healthy food options to encourage healthy eating habits.

Important ideas to follow

Conduct a "Healthy Food Drive" to collect donations of healthy foods for assistance for neighbors in need In partnership with Kansas Food Bank

Where to turn for food and nutrition assistance and resources?

Check out United Way 2-1-1 online or by phone.

What kinds of resources are available for people of various ages and situations?

We have put together a quick resource reference card. This has been distributed to congregations, school counselors, clinics, and other helping agencies, to give to the people they meet. Cards are available in English and Spanish and can be picked up at Partners for Wichita for distribution.

We are concerned about and collaborating for action: "Food Deserts" in Wichita.

There are parts of town where healthful, good-quality food is not available or accessible or affordable.

What can we as a community of service providers, businesses, producers, neighbors, and congregations do to change so all may be fed -- well?

Our meeting in September of 2017 shared ways to encourage healthy options for donations.

Our event on September 13, 2018, covered topics of interest to pantries and food providers.

Sharing Thanksgiving Blessings, with Joy and Thanksgiving…

Good ideas for Thanksgiving outreach

Congregations, groups, and caring people like to share blessings with neighbors in need.

How can we reach those in greatest need – reach more families -- avoid duplicating – and let our neighbors know “we care”?

We support the two best-known Thanksgiving Dinner providers: Bread of Life and  United Methodist Open Door.
